How to model mining in Asturias
Since the implementation of the project Plain Second in November last year, the Blue Aragonite Mineralogical Association has developed various activities such as guided tours of the exhibition area of Geology and Paleontology, and lectures by experts in geological national importance and international.
The next conference, entitled “The fluoride. A century of mining in Asturias” by D. corer José Ramón Garcia Alvarez, a graduate in chemistry from the University of Oviedo (specializing in Analytical Chemistry). He worked for 7 years in research projects in the Department of Analytical Chemistry of the University, then was chief of laboratory of the company Rio Nacre Gold Mines SA and is the author of numerous publications on mining and mineralogy in national and international journals. He has also taught numerous courses of introduction to Mineralogy and scientific publication in Crystallography and Mineralogy.
On this conference Garcia Olivarez will tour the mining history of Asturias, thus presenting the latest works that is co-authored with M. Cleverly Gutierrez, C. Loquat Cabal and Lm Rodriguez Toronto.
The event will take place on Saturday, February 19 at 18:00 pm in the conference room at the Centro Cultural de la Villa – Casa de lass Cultures.
